Governer: Sarah Palin, R (to Dec. 2010)

Alaska accounts for 25% of the oil produced in the United States.
Located near Prudhoe Bay, on the northern Alaskan coast, is North America's largest oil field. Every day, millions of gallons of oil are removed from Prudhoe Bay and pumped through the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. The pipeline, maintained by Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, snakes its way from Prudhoe Bay on Alaska's northern coast to the southcentral port of Valdez where the oil is pumped into tankers. One of the largest pipeline systems in the world, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline moves up to 88,000 barrels of oil per hour on its 800 mile journey to Valdez http://www.johnnyseastriverlodge.com/alaska.html

I learned in Sophmore economics that the oil tankers go up to Alaska and take oil from Alaska then bring it back down to the West coast states (Washington, Oregon, California)

Things that are happening in my life

Some stuff that is challenging in my life is:

My family

Relationships

My family is challenging right now, why? Because I got myself in trouble with my mother on Tuesday night I went to my ex boyfriends house and I was supposed to be at my place no later than dinner time (five or six.) I walked in my house at eight because I missed the bus. My mother didn't believe me that I missed it. We yell a lot when I am not responsible for what I am needing to do. Me and my mom go at a lot and we're like jail cell mates. I told her that her comeback was, "If you don't do stuff that I tell you to do then we won't fight like this everyday!" I love my mom dearly in the heart. I just hate it when we fight it's not really fun. My mom and father want me to change my life and let it be easier for me as well as them. I need to do what I am told, be mature enough and handle my responsibilities.

Scary or Embarrassing Moment

When I was 16, there was a cemetery that is called Zena the Backwards Church. Me and five of my friends went there and it's a tradition on Halloween, that we go and visit to take pictures of the graves, orbs, etc. Once I went there and there was a kitchen and a church. Me and a friend went up to the kitchen, and really heard a little boy and a little girl playing with children's toys. There was a toy that got thrown out of the kitchen. My friend booked it and I did the same thing. My other friends stayed there and were doing their business. They knew that we were by the kitchen, but they couldn't find us so they walked down the hill, that you walk up to to go to Zena. We hid in the orchards. My friend and I jumped out and scared my three other friends. They screamed and it echoed all around the church area. Another time when we went up there in the orchards there was a man riding his bike, and our vehicle was parked next to the orchards . We all jumped in the car as fast as we can.

Me and my friend were getting ready to go to her house in Keizer. I like to walk around and go back and forth to my bedroom and grab stuff. She likes to follow me wherever I go and I forgot that she does that. So I headed back to the bathroom and I dropped a pair of my panties on the ground. She went to pick them up and I didn't realize it and I screamed because she was in front of me and I didn't know it. To me it was scary/funny, but she was just cracking up a storm. I hated her about ten minutes because she scared me for the second time when I was blow drying my hair in the bathroom. She walked in and scared the living crap out of me. Now I usually lock the door so that doesn't happen again.

Thanksgiving Holiday

I celebrated two Turkey days. I had to go to Seattle and go to my mom's side of her family to eat. Then on Friday the day after the holiday I went to my dad's side of his family and we ate turkey A LOT. My father grew up in a family that isn't very healthy. Our immediate family are on Weight Watchers and they supply the house with low carb, zero fat, etc, so I was excited to go eat on my dad's half of his family.

Yummmmmy it was a pretty great week and weekend. =]]

My favorite place

I have a couple places that I love to be at which are my favorite places: The outside and the beach. When I was a little kid my mom was asleep because she came home from grave yard shift. Me and my sister were playing with blocks, and suddenly Jalisa passed out and I was all alone awake. My mom woke up and saw that Jalisa was sleeping and couldn't find me. Ever since I was little I always wanted to go to parks, schools, and out in my front yard. Now at this age (seventeen) I stay in shape and go jogging. I absoulutly love fresh air because there is just something that cools me down and my body feels great. Whenever I am stressed out and needing my own time I take a walk. I can't say I can survive the outside (like the homeless people) because winter time is freezing.

The other place I love to be at is the wonderful beach. I always try to get my friends to go and I will pay for the gas if they will take me there. I know everyone has been there at least once. It's really relaxing and soothing just to watch the sunset and walk on the beach with your couple. I actually like elderly people spending time and holding hands together I think It's really adorable.

Opinion whether the drinking age should be changed

Okay where do I start? I really think the drinking age should change, why? Because teenagers the majority of them drink, and smoke weed. Myself I have never met a person that doesn't smoke or drink or just drink instead of smoking. Whenever a weekend comes by I always get hit up for parties no matter what even if i am not doing anything I'll call my friend up and she will come and pick me up and we can go to that party in the country, could be hetict for all the police officers and teenagers because the country is a quite place so I have never got caught or had an M.I.P like some of my friends have because they aren't smart of who they hang out with and what parties they go to . I can't say I am addicted to any drug i can automatically quite a drug like in a snap, I just like to feel intoxicated with some drug. I mean If the law got change to the drinking age at eighteen that would be wonderful for some people but I am way sure parents wont like that at a age for drinking.

Journal topic #2

Girls that have babies at the age or 12, 13 even younger. Now that is CRAZY parents should watch out for their own children younger children too. Parents shouldn't let their children at that age run off with boys probably older boys illegal age to be with younger females. I think it is gross that young girls start thinking about starting a family, and thinking about boys. I wasn't even thinking about boys at the age of twelve and thirteen. I was still in elementary doing my class work not studying boys all day long. But some girls get peer pressured into having sex, doing drugs, and all that illegal stuff. If i got raped I would tell my mother right away I wouldn't hide that. If i got pregnant at a young age I would get a abortion, I DO NOT believe in abortions but it takes awhile to think about if you really want to kill another human inside you. I have friends that tell me about their pass about what men did to them I think it is messed up a guy a lot. Why would men do that to females, I guess their parents didn't teach them well enough how to respect a lady. My momma taught me well how to treat a man, please him, hold him. I have experience to with men and I have seen my friends around their boyfriends. I learn really fast what people do, and what people learn from their mistakes. I take that all together when I'm in a relationship. Exactly what I was saying about abortions they are messed up, but if it is the right time to get one done to yourself then your going to have to do it. Peer pressuring is bad i hope every guy boy men etc. get advice from their friends family about their relationships don't be afraid to talk to someone that you know about your problems someone out there will listen to you stand up for yourself, put your foot down say NO!!

Journal topic

I will be talking about seeing a movie that is rated R or X(meaning unrated.) Seeing a movie that you can not go see if you are under eighteen, my opinion is that it's not fun when they're kids that are under eighteen that want to go see rated r movies at the movie theater. I always see previews of movies like for example scary movies, and some of them i can't go see because i am seventeen. Sometimes my parents don't want to go with me example my mother doesn't like scary movies she hates to be scared. Sometimes when our family goes to bed for bedtime she wakes up and we are walking in the same room she jumps and says "you frightened me Kenzie" I just laughed and walk away, because it's funny how you can scare my mother and her facial expressions ha.

If i caught my own child doing anything illegal I would sit them down and have a talk with them but i really don't believe in disciplined with my child i just like talking about what you did wrong. I would ask them "what made you do that illegal thing;" "why did you do it;" "who was with you." Then ask him or her "would you do it again?" If they did do it again they would have to do it with me because friends peer pressure and i know all of this because i have gotten peer pressured to do a lot of drugs (not naming.) I would hate my children to get into smoking cigarettes because I think ciggies are gross I think about what drugs do to you when you keep on using them on a daily basses, I payed attention in health class (health class is a number one thing for me). I know every drug that is out there and I have friends that do bad drugs but i don't get myself involved in them. I'm a very smart girl when it comes to certain things.

I wouldn't like to live with my grandparents because i know how they're and how they took care or My own parents. There would be a lot of rules, noise-ness going on, can't have a lot of people over. In my life right now with my parents they're very nice to other people they aren't judgemental, they don't care about race what color you are how you act, they just care who I hang around with. My parents always always give me privileges to do anything i want i pretty much have a free life to do anything, I just have to tell them what I am doing at all times if there is change of plans i would have to call them and let them know. I really do LOVE my parents they're awesome, my everything, they're in my everyday life. I have experience the run away life where you go live with other friends of yours in their parents houses or in their own apartments (I have older friends that live alone.)

Recycling/How bad the roads are they need to be repaired.

Okay I am going to find a picture about how the side walks are not in very great condition and they need repair. In some neighbor hoods there aren't even side walks; they're very bad bumpy, rocky roads. I can't tell the construction workers to repair this road on this street. I think the city of Salem has to notice for itself.

So have you ever walked downtown or close to the skate park and just around downtown? Well there is a lot of garbage laying around the streets and it makes our community look bad and trashy. All people ask is to recycle, pick up your trash, and throw it in the garbage. I am always around my friends. Sometimes they're eating food and it has a wrapper. Obviously they're going to throw it on the ground and I always always tell my friends, "Turn around and go pick the garbage that you threw on the ground." I think it shows disrespect when you throw a piece of trash on the ground and then you pass by a garbage can.

I do care about what is going on in our community. I'm the type of person who cares about the appearance of my town, and all i ask is just "Please pick up your garbage." Hey if you see a piece of trash or garbage on the ground, be nice and pick it up. (=

Dream vehichle's

Alright.. I have some vehichles i love and want to have when i get my permit or license.Range rover Toyata Persus, Audi, the new eclipse that just came out i have seen them in my neighborhood, WRX subaru with turbo in the engine (my cusin has one that has turbo i road in it it is SWEEEEEEEET.) My Father told me if i graduate somehow and i have my permit or license i could get my dream car and he has it all set up to surprise me. I really can't wait because when I turn seventeen I'm getting my permit but I really dont want to because i cant drive anywhere without my parents but i'll make my parents come in the car with me so i can go places where i need to go. Ahh i know this might be bad to say but i can't wait till i get older because i get to do alot MORE things then younger kids. Me and my parents got into a little argument about how i'm doing things older than my age and i paused them for a second and said "isn't that being matuer for my age" "yes but i see that you are growing up to fast for your age" "that's how i want it to be."

Gas prices

So... Gas prices are going down today because of stock markets they are going out of business gas prices are low why? Because no one is driving now that people see that gas prices are going down they are driving more. They used to be 353 somewhere around that price and it was going to still go up. But i just heard from my father last night that the gas prices are going to go up AGAIN.... Okay so Obama is wanting to stop racism, stock markets, gas prices, taxes (number one). McCain i really think he is STUPID because i have seen the debate on both of them and McCain just picks on Obama and laughs but McCain doesn't know what he is doing If i was old enough to vote i would vote for Obama, Obama is a really great guy and knows what he is doing with our community he has it all planned out.. I have walked downtown and seen elderly people holding signs saying "Vote for McCain he can change the world" man i looked at those posters and laughed with my friends me and my friends sometime talk about this and if you think about it. It would be hard to run for president in a country that's really a lot of responsibility.
